Pipelines are maintained through the use of pigs, which are used to clean pipelines from the waxy buildup that can collect inside of them.

Smart Pigs have sensors and cameras to detect if there are any breaks in the pipeline or if there is any corrosion. GPS tracks their location throughout the pipe.

Fun Fact: They are called pigs because when thy were first used, people on the outside heard a funny noise resembling a squealing pig.
